Six talented young Canadians are beginning their post-secondary education with a boost from the G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship.

They were among a strong field of candidates who applied for the scholarship by submitting a video essay describing their vision for the future of agriculture. Each winner receives $4,000, and their high schools are awarded $1,000 each. This is the third year G3 has presented the Grow Beyond Scholarship, in partnership with Agriculture in the Classroom Canada.

All the candidates’ videos were posted online, and public voting formed part of the overall score in the selection process. There were nearly 10,000 votes cast!

The scholarship supports studies in any discipline. This year’s winners included students enrolling in biochemical engineering and commerce, and proposed innovations in agriculture including genetically modified crops and water management.

“I am once again impressed by the vision and passion all the candidates showed for improving agriculture through technology, sustainability and other innovations,” said G3 CEO Don Chapman. “Choosing only six winners from such an impressive field of applicants was not easy and we thank everyone who applied for their hard work.”

“These promising winners demonstrated convincing, well-researched visions for the future of agriculture and we are pleased to once again partner with G3 to offer these scholarships,” said Melissa Galay, Education Specialist with Agriculture in the Classroom Canada. “By supporting these students financially, G3 opens doors that may not have otherwise been opened.”

The G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship will be presented again in 2023.
