Vauxhall gearing up for centennial after two years

It may be two years later than what was anticipate­d, but the Town of Vauxhall and the surroundin­g community is gearing up for their centennial celebratio­n this July 1-2.

On July 1-2, the town will finally celebrate the town’s 100th year of existence with plenty of events for the entire family over both days.

July 1 sees a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. to kick off Canada Day followed by the annual Parade at 11 a.m. The afternoon sees a Co-op sponsored barbecue and then the usual demolition derby starting at 1 p.m. Later that evening, the Spurs will hit the diamond at Jets Stadium at 6 p.m. and then fireworks once the sun goes down.

Saturday continues the busy weekend continue with another pancake breakfast in the morning followed by a show’n shine. At the show n’ shine, a stage will be set up for a youth talent showcase. In the park, FCSS will have plenty of family games set up for the whole family to enjoy.

Later in the evening, two servings of a community supper will be held and then later that night will see a Trevor Panczak concert/cabaret with tickets going on sale later this week. Both events will have tickets available before the big day arrives.
