Lethbridge Police charge male in connection with robbery investigat­ion

Lethbridge Police have charged a 36-year-old Coalhurst male in connection with a commercial robbery and a separate incident of theft.

On Sept. 6, police received a report of a robbery at Gas Plus in the 100 block of Jerry Potts Boulevard West, about 2:15 p.m. A male subject stole a carton of cigarettes and when confronted he pushed the employee before he fled the scene on foot southbound on Jerry Potts Boulevard. There were no injuries involved.

It is believed the same subject was also involved in the theft of a carton of cigarettes on Sept. 13, 2022, from the Safeway Gas Bar in the 2700 block of Fairway Plaza Road South, just after 8:30 p.m.

Police issued a media release with security video images Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022 seeking the public’s assistance in identifyin­g the subject involved. Within hours a male turned himself in at the police station.

Travis Ian Darr was charged with robbery and theft under $5,000 and was released from custody with a scheduled court appearance of Nov. 16, 2022.
