Lethbridge Police charge man with multiple offences, recover $37,000 worth of stolen property

Lethbridge Police have charged a 56-year-old male with multiple offences and recovered $37,000 worth of stolen property in connection with a break-in Wednesday to a commercial compound.

Police responded on Sept. 14, 2022 to a report of a break-in to a fenced business compound in the 600 block of 30 Street North. A hole had been cut in the fence and about $18,000 in tools had been stolen from work vehicles in the yard.

Police also investigat­ed the theft of a truck from the 3600 block of 9 Avenue North, which was believed to have been used during the compound break-in, and was later recovered. There were also reports of significan­t damage done to a vehicle in the 2800 block of 5 Avenue North and another in the 500 block of 30 Street North.

A male subject was later arrested, without incident, at a home in the 300 block of 7 A Avenue South. Stolen property was subsequent­ly recovered at the residence, including the tools, several catalytic converters and two motorcycle­s which had been reported stolen earlier from a dealership.

Tomas Adams of Lethbridge is charged with a total of 10 offences including theft, attempted theft, possession of stolen property and mischief to a motor vehicle. He was remanded in custody with a court appearance set for Friday, Sept. 16.

The investigat­ion is continuing.
