Lethbridge County elects new reeve
In an organizational meeting last week, Tory Campbell of Division 2 was elected Reeve, and John Kuerbis of Division 4 was elected Deputy Reeve, with both serving a year term in these positions until October 2023.
Reeve Campbell has been on Council since 2017 and is now in his second term and second consecutive year as Reeve.
“I look forward to once again serving the citizens of Lethbridge County as Reeve,” says Campbell. “Along with my fellow Council members, we will continue the work we have done over the past year in providing strong governance and collaborating with regional stakeholders for the benefit of the County and region.”
Deputy Reeve Kuerbis is in his first term on Council and will begin serving in the Deputy Reeve position for the first time.
“As Deputy Reeve I hope to further contribute to Council’s strategic vision of making Lethbridge County Canada’s most innovative rural community,” says Kuerbis. “There are many opportunities ahead for the County and as a Council, we will continue advocating for our citizens, businesses, and producers.”
Council also selected members to sit on the internal and external boards, committees, and commissions where a Council representative is required. A full list is available on our website at https://lethcounty.ca/p/ council-committees.
Lethbridge County is governed by seven Councillors, each representing the Division they reside in. The Reeve and Deputy Reeve positions are elected annually by Council at the Organizational Meeting.
