SW Alberta photographers unite for tenth annual “Help-Portrait”

Day Nov. 26

A group of professional photographers will be offering free, high-quality family portraits to people in Lethbridge who, for a variety of reasons, might not be able to afford a family photo this holiday season.

Through a unique program called “Help-Portrait” individuals and families in need can attend the event at Quest Impact 103 - 920 2A Avenue North, on Saturday, November 26th 2022 From 10am to 5pm and benefit from the collective professional creativity of more than 40 volunteers, photographers, lighting experts, makeup artists and stylists to receive a free portrait.

Help-Portrait is a worldwide movement that started in 2008 and has evolved to a point where, to date, more than 381000 portraits have been given by just over 75440 photographers in 67 countries.

“Every year the impact of this event touches the hearts of the whole city” event director and professional photographer Steven Layton said. “We can’t wait to help more people this year.”

“We have reached out to a number of community organizations to help us explain the Help-Portrait concept, and we are confident that the people who can benefit from this experience will be able to take advantage of it.”

Help-Portrait, a not-for-profit organization, was formed in 2008 by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart as he contemplated using his skills and expertise to give back to those who may not have the opportunity for a professional photo. The idea quickly spread through social media such as Twitter, Facebook and blogging and continues to grow.

Help-Portrait Lethbridge will take place on Saturday, November 26th 2022 From 10am to 5pm at the Quest Impact 103 - 920 2A Avenue North, Lethbridge Alberta.

Event Director can be available in advance for media interviews, or during the day around 2pm
