Your story “25 Ways Salt Is Mak­ing You Sick” (Septem­ber 2018) re­ally res­onated with me. Last year, while I thought I was eat­ing health­fully, I found my­self gain­ing weight. Over time, I be­came very ill and even­tu­ally went to the hos­pi­tal. Upon be­ing ad­mit­ted, I learned that my heart rate was twice what it should have been and my liver and kid­neys were in bad shape. I re­ceived a pace­maker, and my doc­tors coun­selled me to ad­just my diet to in­clude less salt. I now look for foods with the low­est sodium con­tent I can find and make sure to eat lots of sal­ads. To­day I’m back at a healthy weight.
