Your story “25 Ways Salt Is Making You Sick” (September 2018) really resonated with me. Last year, while I thought I was eating healthfully, I found myself gaining weight. Over time, I became very ill and eventually went to the hospital. Upon being admitted, I learned that my heart rate was twice what it should have been and my liver and kidneys were in bad shape. I received a pacemaker, and my doctors counselled me to adjust my diet to include less salt. I now look for foods with the lowest sodium content I can find and make sure to eat lots of salads. Today I’m back at a healthy weight.
