Perfume has formula, bottle, store, but no name

Give Selena Gomez some credit: At least she’s not pretending she personally designed the perfume she’s going to be selling. (Designed? What’s the right verb? Invent? Originate? Cook up?)

This stuff doesn’t have a name yet, reports WWD, but it has a bottle (purple, with a lips-shaped stopper), a retail outlet (Macy’s stores), a launch date (mid-may), and a price ($45 to $55).

And a formula: “top notes of orange, pineapple, peach, and raspberry; a heart of purple freesia, Cosmone musk, and dewberry; and a drydown of amber, vanilla, chocolate, and coconut.”

Sounds like a five-yearold’s idea of an ice-cream sundae — and maybe it is: WWD says Gomez concocted this by asking her fans to pick the elements, and then more fans to sample some test products. Now that’s romantic!

Friendly ambush?: This Genevieve Sabourin business may have big repercussions. The Candiac showbiz fringester has been ordered by a judge to leave Alec Baldwin alone, but he still has steam coming out his ears because NBC — the network home of his show, 30 Rock — stationed a news crew outside his home this week while the story was developing.

Saying he felt ambushed by the Today Show crew, Baldwin tweeted a hint that he may ditch the network: “A story about stalking sure brings out the stalkers in the media. But, the Today Show?” followed by the payoff: “I think I’m leaving NBC just in time.”

Tweet not so lovely: So old Dave Grohl tried his luck with Frances Bean Cobain, or else didn’t, depending on whether you believe Frannie ’ s mom, Courtney Love, or Dave.

Now the young lady at the centre of this earths haking crisis has spoken up, and guess what? Courtney had it wrong: “While I’m generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn,” Frances Bean said via news release. “I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way.”

She is, she added, seeing some guy. “I’m in a monogamous relationship and very happy.”

Then the crusher: “Twitter should ban my mother.”
