The Chimney offers a comfortable atmosphere and Greek traditions

-

The Chimney Restaurant and Lounge opened back in 1975, after Spiros Gourgaris, who had been working as a mechanic until that point, purchased what used to be a pizza place. He had the restaurant renovated, giving it a comfortable, athome feel. Gourgaris’s desire to make you feel at home doesn’t end with the décor, however; you can often find him at the door or one of the tables, greeting his guests and making them feel welcome.

This cozy atmosphere is complemented well by the Chimney’s menu selections. The style of the dishes covers anything you could be looking for — including such favourites as steak and lobster, baked onion soup, and chicken stir fry — and all are made fresh when you order them. Some have even been on the menu since the restaurant’s opening day, so the chefs have had plenty of time to perfect them. onion, green peppers, olives, feta and a house dressing. Some of the most popular main entrées are the Shrimp Mikrolimano (featuring shrimp served with a tomatogarlic sauce and feta cheese), the Greek ribs, the Athenian chicken (stuffed with feta cheese), the rack of lamb and the souvlaki. Other items on the menu, such as the baby beef liver, aren’t as common, but they’re definitely something to try if you’re looking for a new, delicious experience.

The Chimney’s menu isn’t limited to just the Greek favourites; it also features more North American-style meals, such as steak and seafood. The menu also includes a wonderful selection of pastas and pizzas, as well as a dessert menu that will appeal to any sweet tooth.

Experiencing the delicious food at the Chimney is as easy as dropping by the restaurant. Larger parties may want to make a reservation, which can be done by calling 584-7777.7
