Lil Wayne says epilepsy caused recent seizures

- DOUG CAMILLI

Those seizures that rapper Lil Wayne had, and that stuff about him being at death’s door, etc.? Nothing to do with codeine, he says.

It was serious, though. He’s epileptic, he reveals to Power 106, a California hiphop radio station. “I’ve had a bunch of seizures — y’all just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down … I could’ve died.” But he’s OK now, considering, he says.

He’s 30.

Name game: You can’t tell it by the first name, but the baby born to actress Kristen Bell and her fiancé Dax Shepard is a girl.

Dax’s tweet: “Lincoln Bell Shepard is here. She has mom’s beauty and dad’s obsession with breasts. Hurrah!”

Kristen is 32. Dax, who’s on NBC’s Parenthood, is 38.

Nice work if you can get it: Cate Blanchett’s new deal to peddle Giorgio Armani perfumes will bring her $10 million, says the New York Post.

That seems to be a record; Brad Pitt, you’ll recall, got $7 million from Chanel.

With catlike tread: Jennifer Lawrence is still being asked about falling down at the Oscars, and is still charmingly candid: “When I’m in high heels I feel like an ogre. I can’t walk and my feet are uncomfortable,” she told Fabulous, a British mag.

“I ’m at that awkward height where I’m already kind of tall, so when I put heels on, everyone is like: ‘Oh, well, where’s the ball?’” (She’s 170 cm).

“They make me look too dressed up,” she went on. “And yeah, I’m terrible in heels.”

Never forget: China has refused visas to the German electronic-music group Kraftwerk, not on the reasonable basis that electronic music is for robots only, but because the Chinese have long memories.

The group was billed to take part on a Tibetan freedom concert in Washington, D.C., 15 years ago, see? Weather cancelled the show, but the Chinese have a good filing system: no way, they say now.

NME.com, reporting this, also says John Lydon and his band Public Image Ltd have just been allowed into China for some gigs.

But it wasn’t easy: they “asked me to send every lyric I have ever written, and they surprisingly approved me. They have either incredible good taste or they have no idea what I’m going on about.”

Quiet ride: Tom Hanks wants you to know that he rides the subway to work. He’s in New York doing a Broadway play, Lucky Guy, and he eschews the limo to get to the theatre, he tells New York mag: “Nobody looks at anybody on the subway. Occasionally someone might give you a thumbs-up, and you nod. But the city is magnificent as far as that brand of easy anonymity.”
