Ripplinger scores hat trick for Pat Canadians

Turner Ripplinger had three goals to help the Regina Pat Canadians post a 4-2 victory over the Yorkton Maulers in Saskatchew­an Midget AAA Hockey League pre-season action on Saturday.

Tylor Ludwar also scored for the visiting Pat Canadians. Damian Bentz and Brayden Miller scored for the Maulers.

Arun Sehgal caught a touchdown pass on the final play of the game to give the Shock a 40-36 victory over the Little Generals in OFL touch football action Saturday.

he Little Generals had assumed a 36-34 lead on the previous possession when Paul Gobeil caught his second touchdown pass of the game. Gobeil also had three converts and an intercepti­on.

Dave Slater, Brad Stevens and Tanner Maurice also had touchdowns for the Little Generals, who got five TD passes from Spencer Larocque.

Shock quarterbac­k Mike Roziak threw six touchdown passes. Aside from hitting Sehgal for the game-winner, Roziak had two TD passes to Mark Bernard and singles to Russ Clarke, Ryan Elberg and Doug Degelman.

In Saturday’s other game, James Mitchell and Quinton Ambrose caught three TD passes apiece to help Tebow Time defeat the JetSkins 46-39. Luke Basnick also scored for Tebow Time, which got seven TD tosses from Devin Clifton.

JetSkins quarterbac­k Cory Bell threw three TD passes to Jeff Mydelski and singles to Zach Smith, Daniel Selke and Patrick Acquah.

Regina’s Dustin Molleken and the Columbus Clippers captured the Governors’ Cup on Saturday night with a 3-0 victory over the Indianapol­is Indians. The Clippers won the best-of-five series 3-2.

The Governors’ Cup is awarded to the champion of the Internatio­nal League, one of two Triple-A levels in baseball minor leagues.

The Regina Prairie Fire beat the Saskatoon Wolverines 55-33 in a Sask Rugby elite senior men’s representa­tive game on Saturday.
