Ronaldo booted from movie

- DOUG CAMILLI

Imagine getting paid $30 million to not appear in a Martin Scorsese movie. That’s what’s GQ mag says is happening to Cristiano Ronaldo, the soccer star who’s already eerily rich.

Marty’s making a picture called The Manipulator, based loosely on the life of Italian tycoon Alessandro Proto. He wanted to shoot some scenes in Ronaldo’s jaw-dropping penthouse apartment in the Trump Tower in New York. To talk him into it, Marty offered Ronaldo a small part in the movie. But now, GQ reports, Italy’s Gazzetta World says Proto balked, grumbling that the movie’s supposed to be about him, and a mega-star of soccer would distract people. Scorsese agreed; Channing Tatum will replace Ronaldo, who gets the big cash fee for the use of his place, instead.

Cashing in: I thought Jerry Seinfeld was basically retired, but Forbes mag says he’s the best-paid comedian in showbiz, mainly from what we used to call reruns.

In the 12 months ending last May 31, Seinfeld earned $36 million, much of it from Hulu which bought rights to his old sitcom. He’s also still touring a fair bit.

Band on the run: Jeremy Renner, rock star? Why not?

He is indeed planning to release an album, the New York Post reports. The other night at some joint in New York he was on stage “to perform” — the paper pointedly does not say “to sing” — “the Animals’ version of The House of the Rising Sun, with a band dubbed Brother Sal.” His publicist told the paper Renner is recording, but (there is) no date or plans as to when this might be.
