New Beginnings
Following the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ last two 3-15 seasons, the CFL schedule has called for them to open at home against the Toronto Argonauts. On July 6, 2000 at Taylor Field, the Roughriders lost 36-28 to Toronto in their first game under head coach Danny Barrett and general manager Roy Shivers. Saskatchewan is to face the Argonauts again on Thursday at 8 p.m.

Dressler was released for financial reasons in January and subsequently signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Capicciotti, who helped the Ottawa Redblacks reach the 2015 Grey Cup game, signed as a free agent with Saskatchewan in February.
