The family of Regina woman Judy Campbell, who was last seen in the city at around 9 a.m. Wednesday, have spoken of their anguish as they continue to search for the semi-retired teacher.

Campbell, 65, is Caucasian, about 5-foot-4, weighing 130 pounds, with a medium build, medium complexion, hazel eyes and short, brown hair. There is no description available of the clothes she was wearing at the time she disappeared.

Police believe she may be in North Battleford or travelling along the Yellowhead Highway in a light green four-door 2015 Subaru Cross Trek with the plate 953 INQ. In Facebook posts the family — which has Edmonton connections — has asked that people look out for their mother in North Battleford, Lloydminster, Bonnyville, Meadow Lake and Edmonton.

“She left on Wednesday saying she was going to Swift Current to visit my grandmother, her mom,” said Alison Campbell, the missing woman’s daughter.

“She was going to come back Thursday. She texted my brother at 2:40 p.m. saying she was in Swift Current, but she never returned home, and she never was in Swift Current, no one saw her.”

Campbell said when police traced her mother’s last text, the trace came up just north of North Battleford. She said the family was highly concerned as they had subsequently found both a note, and Internet searches, that indicate their mother intended to harm herself.

“We think she’s gone somewhere to try and harm herself, but we don’t know where,” Campbell said. “So that’s why we’re really in a panic. I think she was a bit down; I didn’t realize how significant (it was).”

Campbell said her mother had not slept well for about a week, but had no prior periods of depression or attempts at self-harm. Their mother’s phone is now going straight to voice mail, but Alison and her two brothers are hoping she may have simply gone somewhere to think matters over during a rough period.

“We love her and we want to help her,” Campbell said. “Just come home, mom. That’s our greatest wish.”

Anyone with information that may help to locate Judy Campbell is asked to contact Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
