CLINIQUE'S PEP-START SWIPES, LIERAC NIGHT CREAM AND MORE

-

CLINIQUE

Pep-start swipes They say: “Helps keep skin out of trouble by removing the excess oil, dirt and debris that can clog pores. Smooths skin through mild exfoliation. Instantly moisturizes. Perfect for face, of course, but also neck, chest, upper arms, back. Preps skin for makeup. All skins benefit.”

We say: This wipe takes off all makeup easily and leaves skin hydrated. Our tester found them perfect for travel and they stayed moist even when transferred to a travel zip-lock bag. At 50 wipes per pack, this is a good deal for a prestige makeup remover. $19 | Clinique counters

LIERAC

Magnificence Nuit

They say: A night cream with “an active texture with immediate beautiful skin effect ... Fresh like a gel and effective like a mask, it creates an invisible film to diffuse the active ingredients throughout the night.” After repeated use “skin and complexion are more even, wrinkles are corrected.”

We say: Though described as a gel, the sensation on the skin is more of a creamy texture and definitely not sticky. It adheres to the skin, not the pillow. Right after one use there was a noticeable difference in how our tester’s skin felt — smoother and ultra hydrated. And after repeated nightly applications, skin appeared firmer and wrinkles diminished. Given the price point, it’s comforting that a little goes a long way. Comes with an applicator so the cream doesn’t get contaminated. $90 | Murale and Shoppers Drug Mart

REVLON PROFESSIONAL

UniqOne Lotus Flower Hair Treatment

They say: A leave-in conditioning spray that provides 10 benefits in one product including heat protection, shine, frizz control, split-end prevention and more.

We say: Our tester, who has cropped, curly hair that’s especially prone to frizz, was pleased with the smoothing properties of this spray. She reported her hair stayed under control for longer than more lightweight sprays. Chatters | $19.95
