For sale sign about to go up on Brangelina’s French chateau
There’s a nice little chateau going on the market in France. Brad and Angie don’t want it anymore.
They bought Chateau Miraval — 1,200 acres (486 hectares), with vineyards, olive groves, private lake, tenant houses, moated 35-room castle, etc. — in 2012. They paid about US$60 million for the historic place, and put more money into renovations and improvements, including a recording studio. They got married there in 2014, but as you may have heard, that’s over now.
Us Weekly says there’s no asking price yet, since the place is not officially on the market. You know the saying: If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
Then there’s the wine. The magazine’s source, Nameless Insider, says the label on each bottle of Chateau Miraval rose currently includes their names, “Jolie-Pitt.” But “next season’s batch will have a new reprinted label with no names.” Theatre director Sophie Hunter, whose husband is Benedict Cumberbatch, is expecting their second child, E! Online reports.
She’s 38. It’s been weeks since Taylor Swift unloaded Tom Hiddleston, and still no new man in her life — as far as we know anyway.
We do however learn, from Hollywoodlife.com, that she has modified her requirements. “She is not avoiding dating nor is she actively looking for a boyfriend, but she definitely wants to make sure the next person she dates can be a little more secretive about the relationship and she is looking to do the same,” Don’t Usemyname says.
“She wants things to be less public. She is not looking to be the next Bennifer or Brangelina,” the source adds.
She’s 26. The guitar Janis Joplin played while recording Me and Bobby McGee is up for auction, TMZ. com reports. Heritage Auctions will bring the hammer down on it Nov. 12. Anticipated price: at least US$100,000.
It’s a six-string Gibson Hummingbird acoustic made in 1969. So it would have been new when Joplin recorded the song in 1970, just a few days before she died of an overdose. Her heirs gave the guitar to Sam Andrew, who had been her bandmate in Big Brother and the Holding Company. His widow is now selling it. Another auction: Robin Williams owned 87 bicycles. Who knew? Now they’re being sold, the New York Post reports.
Williams left us in 2014. His heirs have now given away the collection, including carbon-fibre racing bikes, classic old Schwinns, and even a unicycle or two
They’re being auctioned for two good causes Williams supported, the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and the Challenged Athletes Foundation. The auction closes Oct. 25 (today).
