New Moon and the Grand Entrance

A prompt person might make the same entrance as a late person, only there’s no one to watch. So if you feel that you’re late to life in some way, don’t slink through the door. Hold your head up high and present yourself so that your audience can enjoy your arrival. The Aries new moon loves a grand entrance. Be proud; be strong; begin.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You can’t control how many times people acknowledge and accept you, but you certainly can control how many times you smile and acknowledge other people. That will tip the balance.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Sometimes it seems you need to speak your thoughts to know what you are thinking. This is one of those days. It will help you to be around that friend who actually listens, too.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). To air things out is a very literal thing for you today. What’s unwanted can be carried away by the wind. Today you’ll change the energy of a relationship by conversing in the open air of the outdoors.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). This problem that keeps coming up is not so much big or unsurmountable as it is persistent. Like a gnat, it can be handled with an accurate swat -- in this case, with the application of a specific tactic.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). The absurd trivialities of life will annoy you if you let them. One way to avoid the harassment is to find something much bigger and so immersive that your perspective disallows petty provocations.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). It’s rare that a person intrigues and relaxes you at the same time, and you might be fascinated to know that you have the same effect, which makes for a rather irresistible attraction.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). What was once a vast and wondrous experience is now reduced to a segment of information in your mind. You condensed it to “good” or “bad” so it would fit neatly. Now it’s time to unpack that bag and see what’s really in there.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Exploration happens best by accident. Way leads to way as you wander, trusting that something of enduring value is out there for you to find. There’s no map, only a faithful sense that you’re getting closer.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). It will be a small gesture that gets you through the obstacle and into the place you want to be. As philanthropist W. Clement Stone suggested, “big doors swing on little hinges.”

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You won’t have to look long for beauty. The ordinary, everyday landscape will reward you and every other traveler looking up. Unfortunately, many will be too mesmerized by their glowing screens to raise their heads.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You’ll only be able to see what’s available to you through unwanting eyes. As soon as you want something from the situation, your vision becomes limited.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). When you come to the impasse (and you will in some minor way at least three times today), turn and walk in the direction of fresh air. The bright idea you need will be riding a zephyr. Let it hit you in the face.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (March 27). Because you are open to new experiences, you’ll be a different person by your next birthday. Romance and friendship will accompany you closely in the months to come. In June, you’ll want independence and adventure. You’ll win and lose money, and in the process, you’ll figure out how to win more often. Taurus and Gemini adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 7, 9, 30, 21 and 4.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: “I’m an Aries, and I haven’t had a relationship in 16 years. What’s up with that?! Am I destined to walk the earth alone? So many of us do. What should I be doing instead of waiting for Mr. Right, who will probably never come?”

On walking the earth alone: You’re not alone. As far as what you should be doing instead of waiting for Mr. Right: Look at all of the connections you have established in this lifetime -- all of the ways you are connected to your fellow beings. Journal about this. Celebrate and be grateful for those relationships, even though they don’t fit your description of romantic love. When you recognize and give energy to the ways in which you are willing to be connected to others, you will start to broaden your capacity to connect. Make a daily practice of celebrating your connection to your fellow human and within a few lunar cycles, I predict, you will have attracted more love, in its various forms, to your life.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Aries people are zealous. Whether strategizing a project or hedging bets on a baseball game, minuscule or massive -- size doesn’t matter -- their fervor is “of the moment.” Vince Vaughn has this zeal, and he’s as earnest as he is possessed. It’s as though through sheer grit and wit, Vaughn can make even the most remotely likable characters endearing.
