‘We just want to find my brother’: Stephanie Dahl

On Wednesday, police located his vehicle, but there is still no sign of Mathew Thomas Dahl, the Regina man last seen three weeks ago.

Dahl, 32, was last spotted near 4th Avenue and Forget Street in Regina at about 3 a.m. on March 8. He was reported missing two days later.

His vehicle, a black 2014 Buick Encore, was found in a rural location described by police as northwest of the city. Police teams aided by trained searchers are continuing their efforts to locate him.

Kelowna, B.C.-based Stephanie Dahl, Mathew’s sister, is in town with her fiancé, Darcy Rogocky, to search for him, but said that so far the family is short on leads. Though police have not confirmed this, Stephanie said his cellphone has also been found, and that the car was located “out by Craven.”

“Right now we don’t really have a lot,” she said. “All we have is (that) the car has been found, they found his cellphone but we still haven’t located Mathew.

“My fiancé and I came down, we arrived in on Saturday … and we’ve just been here getting the word out on the street, putting up posters,” she said.

“We had to come out here and get a feel of the climate and do some leg work, so that things got moving along. I guess we just wanted to try to find my brother.”

Stephanie said Mathew has been based in the Regina area since 2008 or 2009, and lives with his girlfriend, Courtney Sandhoff. They have a two-year-old son, and another child is expected in July.

“There’s nothing to suggest that there’s any foul play at this point,” Stephanie said.

“We were hoping that when we located the car we would find Mathew, but that’s not the case, he’s not there. We just want to find my brother. We’re doing the best we can to find him.”

Dahl is described as Caucasian, approximately six feet tall, weighing 160 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes. He has Chinese symbols tattooed on his neck (on the left side, by his ear) and on both arms.

When last seen he was wearing white runners, a black jacket and a black toque.

Anyone who has seen Dahl, recalls having seen the black Buick Encore, or has other information about this case is asked to contact Regina Police Service at 306-7776500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800222-8477 (TIPS).
