Red Sox are hitting the road for two games
The Regina Red Sox are carrying a three-game losing streak into a pair of Western Major Baseball League weekend road games.
Regina will oppose the Yorkton Cardinals on Saturday (7:05 p.m., Jubilee Park) before visiting the Swift Current 57s on Sunday (2:05 p.m., Mitchell Field).
The Red Sox will then have backto-back home games — Monday against the Weyburn Beavers and Tuesday versus the Moose Jaw Miller Express. Both games are set for 7:05 p.m. at Currie Field.
Regina’s record fell to 1-3 on Thursday when Weyburn won 6-2 at Currie Field.
Corey Harrell had two home runs and five RBI for Weyburn, which improved its record to 4-0.
Regina’s Griffin Keller had a tworun homer.
The Regina junior golf championships are to be held Saturday and Sunday.
Round 1 is to be played at the Murray Golf Course.
The final round will be held at the Royal Regina Golf Club.
The defending champions are Cole Obrigewitsch (boys) and Alex Schmidt (girls). Schmidt is a two-time defending champion.
Play in a new under-18 rugby league began Thursday at Regina Rugby Park.
The Rogues defeated the Condors 15-0 and Notre Dame blanked the Rage 52-0 in girls matches.
In boys action, the Rogues defeated the Grads 31-12 and Notre Dame defeated the Highlanders 52-10.
The Royal Regina Golf Club defeated the Wascana Country Club 100.5-89.5 in the Regina and Area Match Play League on Thursday.
