A SAMPLING OF RESPONSES TO THE TRESPASSING SURVEY:

- Source: Saskatchewan government

“I know I would not drive my Ski-doo or recreational vehicle across someone’s yard in town. They would have to stick too (sic) driving on government road allowances only.”

“So much fiddle faddle for something that should be common sense. Do you MLAS and MPS go from the backyards to the front or cut across fields when you’re campaigning?”

“This is 2018 too many trespassers on private property which there is no need for ... This matter should have a top priority.”

“With farmers and ranchers having larger operations these days it’s difficult to determine ownership ...”

“On occasion, kids have been found partying in gravel pit and officer brought child to door to ask if permission had been sought (as signs were posted) and permission had not been given — again concern for safety.”

“Biosecurity concern — transfer of clubroot/disease via vehicle tires etc.”

“The government has enough Crown land for activitis (sic) mentioned.” “We do give people permission to hunt on our land. But we want to know who it is and what days they are hunting.”

“We feel that everyone of any race, colour or creed should have to seek

permission of the land owner, before entering said land.”

“If I can’t go ATV in the parks in the city or on the mayor’s front lawn then why should ANYONE be able to do it on private rural land?”

“I am embarrassed for the government wasting money on this.”

“I first must question where the impetus for these changes has come from. There seems to be a misconceived notion that rural crime is somehow on the rise.” “We’ve had fuel stole (sic) from our semi twice and our combine once with the sensor broke in the fuel tank. One purebred golden retriever pup stole — worth $400. Another night, three large figures walked on our deck. As soon as I turned our bedroom light on, they tuck (sic) off in a truck.”

“Hunting and angling within this province have deep roots and a rich history reaching farther back than agriculture.”

“The land is in my name. I should have the say as to why and who is entering my rural land.”

“I feel there are better ways for us too (sic) accomplish this concern than a trespassing law. Truly we have the best of both worlds now. I know things are changing but I hope my kids can grow up expierencing (sic) Sask the way I knew it.”

“We belong to the nature conservatory and highly value our wild birds. I do not want them hunted on our land. Ever by anyone.”

“No permission should be required for entering unposed land in Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan should NEVER follow anything that Albertans do ever!!!”

“I don’t think these changes would result in a good outcome. They certainly will do nothing to increase anyone’s security.”
