Experience the adrenaline rush of escape rooms
A real-life escape room is a game where players must escape from a locked area by solving puzzles in the environment around them. Escape rooms began over ten years ago, but have made their way to Saskatchewan and increased popularity in the last few years.
Located near downtown, District 3 Escape Rooms has made a name for itself in the industry. In District 3’s wide variety of rooms, teams are locked in a theme room for up to an hour, figuring out how to escape. There are no lines to follow or set paths to traverse, just a space full of clues, hidden items, and puzzles. Everything that is not attached can be moved, and anything can be a clue in the quest to escape.
“The rooms are incredibly atmospheric with complex clues which really help to bring the story of each room to life. You really feel as if you have become a character inside the unique narrative the individual rooms are telling,” says Ryan Baron, who has visited the District 3 Escape Rooms several times.
An escape room evening can provide team fun for people of any age, including kids. And all types of groups can get involved: friends, families, birthday parties, sports wind-ups, work team building groups, bachelorette parties. They even make a great twist on the traditional Christmas party.
“In modern times, people are craving entertainment and unique experiences more than ever. Escape rooms bring the adrenaline of solving puzzles within unique storylines mixed with the pressure of a time limit, creating a unique blend of live action fun and games,” says District 3 Escape Rooms co-owner David Ma.
With the growing popularity of this type of activity, District 3 Escape Rooms strive to be leaders in the industry. Their 60-minute physical escape rooms are designed and developed in-house, giving more personal touch on the puzzles, technology, storylines, and soon-to-be alternate paths and endings. They have also ventured into virtual reality escape rooms, where up to six players are escaping together in the digital world.
Open for bookings from early morning to midnight, District 3 Escape Rooms can accommodate any sort of group or event. They offer a variety of rooms with intriguing names like Interrogation Room, The Cabin and Wascanaco, and are the first venue in Regina to offer all private escapes so you are not paired up with strangers. Their washrooms are gender neutral and most of the areas in each escape room are wheelchair accessible. And their location is close to many restaurants and cafés for before or after your game.
In addition to their current live action escape rooms, District 3 Escape Rooms has a new intense 20-minute Lights Out! Escape featuring character actors and a few scares. And if you are looking for a gift idea, they also sell over 30 different scenarios for tabletop escapes.
District 3 Escape Rooms focuses on providing added value and superior customer experience for every visitor. Whether it’s offering to show all unsuccessful groups how the experience ends, debriefing each team to give a more complete sense of the experience and story or offering a complimentary photo-op, District 3 Escape Rooms promises to be like nothing you’ve done before. Best of all, outside knowledge is not required to have a great time in the escape room; District 3 will provide everything you need for your escape.
“Keep an open mind, as escape rooms can be full of surprises. Be brave, form a team you want to spend up to an hour with, and come test your minds. The most important part is that you will have fun, and be given fond memories to talk about!” says Ma.
