Two men dead af­ter head-on crash

An 86-year-old man from Regina and a 56-year-old man from Cen­tral Butte are both dead af­ter a head-on crash on the Trans-canada High­way west of Moose Jaw on Thurs­day.

Ac­cord­ing to an RCMP news re­lease, Moose Jaw RCMP re­ceived two com­plaints at 1:13 p.m. about a brown van trav­el­ling west­bound in the east­bound lane of the high­way near Park­beg. Min­utes later, po­lice were dis­patched to a head-on col­li­sion in the same area.

The brown van was be­ing driven by an 86-year-old man from Regina, and the other ve­hi­cle, a pickup truck, was be­ing driven by a 56-year-old man from Cen­tral Butte. Both men were the only oc­cu­pants of each ve­hi­cle, and were pro­nounced dead at the scene. The RCMP is not re­leas­ing their names.
