Was­cana Archer re­ceives Ken­tucky ath­letic schol­ar­ship

Madi­son Hart of Regina has ac­cepted an archery schol­ar­ship from the Lind­sey Wil­son Col­lege Blue Raiders, who are based in Columbia, Ky.

“It is an hon­our to wel­come Madi­son into our pro­gram,” Blue Raiders head coach Mike Wil­lis said in a me­dia re­lease. “I look for great things with her in our pro­gram.”

Hart is a mem­ber of the Was­cana Archers and is coached by her fa­ther, Lee.

Tris­tan Sulz scored the win­ning goal as the Ex­treme Hockey Regina Cap­i­tals de­feated the Assini­boia South­ern Rebels 6-4 in Prairie Junior Hockey League ac­tion Thurs­day at the Al Ritchie Me­mo­rial Cen­tre.

Sulz snapped a 4-4 tie with a power-play goal at 14:23 of the third pe­riod.

Rhett Bayne, Ahmed Ally, Kyle Col­well, Jor­dan Rep­sch and Bray­den Cock­will (with an empty-net­ter) also scored for the Cap­i­tals, who got three as­sists from Todd Johnson.

Reese Rutko, Matt Kess­ler­ing, Cay­den Price and Matt Roblin scored for Assini­boia, which got 45 saves from Kade Smith. The Cap­i­tals’ Jor­dan Sch­mu­land stopped 29 shots.

Umer Rehman scored 51 points Wed­nes­day as the Laval Lion de­feated the Scott Blues 98-78 in Regina In­ter­col­le­giate Bas­ket­ball League se­nior boys tier 2 ac­tion.
