PRE-LIT qual­i­fy­ing games set for Mon­day night at Luther Col­lege

PRE-LIT — a qual­i­fier for the Luther In­vi­ta­tional Tour­na­ment — is to be held Mon­day night at Luther Col­lege High School’s Semple Gym­na­sium.

Games are set for 6:15 p.m. (Le­boldus Golden Suns ver­sus Miller Ma­raud­ers) and 8 p.m. (Camp­bell Tar­tans ver­sus Win­ston Knoll Wolver­ines).

The win­ners will earn Regina’s senior boys bas­ket­ball berths in the 67th an­nual LIT, Feb. 7-9.

Blake Swet­likoff had a goal and an as­sist for the Regina Pat Cana­di­ans on Satur­day in their 3-2 Saskatchewan Mid­get AAA Hockey League vic­tory over the Saska­toon Blaz­ers at the Co-op­er­a­tors Cen­tre.

Luc Mar­leau and Carter Belit­ski were the other goal-scor­ers for Regina, which im­proved its record to 21-4-2-2. Trystyn Bryks scored both goals for Saska­toon (26-7-02).

Jarvis Gelowitz and Con­nor Nagel each had two goals and one as­sist for the Trav­e­land RV Storm on Satur­day in its 8-7 Prairie Ju­nior Hockey League vic­tory over the Assini­boia South­ern Rebels at Moss­bank Arena.

The Storm im­proved its Bill John­ston Divi­sion-lead­ing record to 22-7-0-0.

The Ex­treme Hockey Regina Cap­i­tals, who lost 10-1 to the host Saska­toon Quak­ers on Satur­day, are in sec­ond place — three points be­hind the Storm, with one game in hand.

Jared Legien, for­merly of the WHL’S Regina Pats, had three goals and two as­sists Satur­day as the York­ton Ter­ri­ers posted an 11-2 SJHL vic­tory over the host Wey­burn Red Wings.

Quin­ten Hobbs also had a hat trick for York­ton.

Legien has 60 points, in­clud­ing 33 goals, in 37 games with York­ton this sea­son.

Also on Satur­day, the Melfort Mus­tangs’ Justin Ball scored his league-lead­ing 42nd goal in a 5-4 loss to the host Flin Flon Bombers.

Mean­while, Dysart-born De­van Har­ri­son scored at 1:04 of over­time to give the Este­van Bru­ins a 4-3 vic­tory over the vis­it­ing Notre Dame Hounds. Har­ri­son added two as­sists.
