Senior goes to hospital after car strikes trees

A senior citizen is in hospital with serious injuries after her vehicle struck two trees on south Albert Street.

Regina police were dispatched at noon Monday to a single-vehicle collision after a southbound vehicle veered onto the green space separating Albert Street from the service road. The vehicle struck a tree and then a second tree.

Police asked motorists to avoid south Albert Street as officers continued to investigat­e. Vehicles entering the west service road were diverted.

Police couldn’t indicate in the immediate aftermath of the crash what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
