PUFFER PANACHE
The temperature has dropped. There, we said it. Now that that’s out of the way, it’s time to go out and get a new coat, preferably one that’s so warm you never have to think twice about going outside again. Enter the puffer. Sure, it has been a few seasons now that we’ve been into them, but the trend for this marshmallow-like, Michelin Man-inspired outerwear shows no signs of waning. From seriously logo-ed to chic and sleek, Rebecca Tay presents five puffer coats to wrap up in now.
SUPER PUFF GIRLS
The Super Puff by Tna is now so popular it has its very own section on Aritzia’s website, complete with all the world’s coolest girls wearing it: Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Georgia Fowler. It comes in five fits, plus a new men’s version (which is pretty major), but our favourite right now is the long. Cocoon yourself in if it’s -40 C outside, or undo the bottom side snaps for a bit more wiggle room.

TWO IN ONE
When it comes to super warm parkas and stylish, practical outerwear, you can’t go past Canada Goose. If you’re on a first-name basis with their bestselling coats — Kensington, Trillium, Expedition — it’s about time you met North Shore. The only reversible coat in the brand’s collection, it’s black on one side and camo print on the other. It also looks lightweight but is surprisingly warm.

LIKE CANDY
A go-to for its basic tees, cashmere crewneck and socks and underwear, Uniqlo is also a stellar source for affordable puffer vests and jackets, especially great for layering under a parka or wool overcoat. There’s a rainbow of colours available. We’re hoping this candy pink hue will brighten up particularly gloomy winter days.

B FOR …
No doubt you’ve seen Riccardo Tisci’s new direction for British heritage brand Burberry by now. It has taken us a little while, but we’re now fully into the new look and new monogram B logo, as featured on this unisex puffer. This coat also comes in two more pared-down colour combos, but why blend in when you can stand out? Burberry, burberry.com | $2,290
NICE & NAVY
If traditional puffers are a little too, well, unrefined for you, or you want a style that will work with wintry dresses and skirts, you might like this hooded trapeze style. It still veers to the casual side, but with its A-line silhouette and a cinchable waist, it’s definitely more streamlined than slope or street.
