A 35-year-old woman suffered minor injuries when she was assaulted during a carjacking on Thursday morning.

According to a Regina Police Service (RPS) news release, at approximately 10 a.m. police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on the 1500 block of 11th Avenue in Regina. Police received information that a vehicle was stolen by a stranger, and was last seen headed southbound on St. John Street.

The suspect was described as a man with a light complexion and a medium build, wearing a black hoodie.

Police located the victim, who had been assaulted and pulled from her vehicle as she was getting into it. The vehicle was later located on the 1800 block of Ottawa Street.

This incident follows another car jacking that occurred Sunday.

On Feb. 28 at 1:40 a.m., police were sent to the 400 block Broad Street North after a lone male suspect pointed a firearm and ordered the victim from his vehicle. The gunman then jumped into the driver's seat and drove southbound on Broad Street.

That suspect was described as male, Indigenous, approximately 5-10, wearing a black and white bandana, black hoodie, and several rings. He had a black handgun. The vehicle was a 2012 black Honda Accord with damage to the front passenger fender.

Police ask that anyone with information about either incident contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500, local law enforcement agency, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
