Moskaluke takes a new direction on her latest single Heartbreaker

-

Saskatchewan's Jess Moskaluke has officially released her latest single: Heartbreaker.

The Juno-winning, platinum-selling country artist, who grew up in Langenburg, co-wrote the new single alongside frequent collaborators Emily Shackelton and Corey Crowder.

The “moody, rock-tinged track” explores a different vantage point from classic breakup anthems. It comes on the heels of another recently released single, Not What Ya Think, and an accompanying video.

“Heartbreaker is a direction I haven't really explored yet both in the music and the lyrics,” Moskaluke said in a media release. “I myself have written many songs about the heartbreak of a woman, but I haven't written about the heartbreak of a man. In writing the song, we tried to embody the sense of longing that comes along with falling for someone emotionally broken from a previous relationship.”

Moskaluke has a busy summer ahead on the festival circuit, including a stop at Craven's Country Thunder on July 15.

SK Arts is celebrating 75 years of providing support for the province's arts community.

The government-funded organization, formed in 1948 as the Saskatchewan Arts Board, held a special event in honour of the milestone at the Mackenzie Art Gallery. It was highlighted by the We.celebrate.you. campaign whereby a group of established artists were asked to nominate 75 emerging artists, organizations and programs that embody the future of the Saskatchewan arts community. Each of the 75 nominees receive a $750 grant toward their art practice.

“SK Arts is the oldest agency of its kind in Canada and has played a significant role in celebrating the achievements of Saskatchewan artists and arts organizations,” said Laura Ross, minister of parks, culture and sport. “The new We.celebrate.you. campaign honours the past, present and future of Saskatchewan's arts community. It is a unique and fitting tribute that honours the exciting future of the arts in this province.”

The campaign continues with twice-weekly features on the organization's website (sk-arts.ca) and social media channels.

SK Arts mission is to provide grants, programs and services to individuals and groups whose activities impact the arts in Saskatchewan.

Terri Clark and Paul Brandt are headed to Regina as part of their Homecoming '23 Tour.

The Canadian Country Music Hall of Famers are set to co-headline an acoustic tour that stops at the Conexus Arts Centre on Nov. 4 for a show that promoter Live Nation calls “an intimate evening of songs and stories from two of Canada's most accomplished entertainers.”

The 24-date Canadian trek begins with back-to-back shows at Yorkton's Anne Portnuff Theatre on Nov. 1 and 2. It also stops at Saskatoon's TCU Place on Nov. 19.

“Since our careers launched in the late '90s, Terri and I have had a special connection; two Alberta kids reaching for the stars,” Brandt said in a media release. “What are the chances that we would have both made it? Through the years we've always stayed in touch and made a point to connect when our North American tours intersected, but now our paths are leading us onto the same stage together for the very first time.”

Added Clark: “Paul and I co-headlining a Canadian tour has always felt like a no-brainer to me. I am thrilled that we finally found the right time and the right way to do this together. We are so looking forward to getting on stage with our guitars in an intimate setting and playing our hits for our Canadian fans. I can't wait to hit the road this fall.”
