Six-storey ap­pli­ca­tion at Ma­jor Mack and Church

At an April 23 com­mit­tee of the whole meet­ing at Richmond Hill Town Coun­cil, the com­mit­tee was pre­sented with of­fi­cial plan amend­ment, zon­ing by­law amend­ment and site plan ap­proval ap­pli­ca­tions in or­der to con­struct a six-storey build­ing con­tain­ing 87 apart­ment units, one semi-de­tached dwelling unit and two sin­gle de­tached dwelling units at 115 and 119 Church St. S., and at 64 and 72 Ma­jor Macken­zie Dr. E. The ap­pli­ca­tions were ac­cepted with amend­ments.

Owner re­quests ad­just­ment on max­i­mum square footage

The owner of a property at 31 El­gin St. in Thorn­hill is re­quest­ing re­lief from the re­quire­ments of By­law 2237, as amended, to per­mit a max­i­mum floor area ra­tio of 55.9 per cent (5,406 square feet, as op­posed to the cur­rent max­i­mum of 4,838 square feet) and a max­i­mum build­ing depth of 20.63 me­tres, as op­posed to the cur­rent 16.8 me­tres. The re­quest will be con­sid­ered at the next Markham City Coun­cil com­mit­tee of ad­just­ment meet­ing.
