Thornhill development requires ease on bylaw
Six-storey application at Major Mack and Church
At an April 23 committee of the whole meeting at Richmond Hill Town Council, the committee was presented with official plan amendment, zoning bylaw amendment and site plan approval applications in order to construct a six-storey building containing 87 apartment units, one semi-detached dwelling unit and two single detached dwelling units at 115 and 119 Church St. S., and at 64 and 72 Major Mackenzie Dr. E. The applications were accepted with amendments.
Owner requests adjustment on maximum square footage
The owner of a property at 31 Elgin St. in Thornhill is requesting relief from the requirements of Bylaw 2237, as amended, to permit a maximum floor area ratio of 55.9 per cent (5,406 square feet, as opposed to the current maximum of 4,838 square feet) and a maximum building depth of 20.63 metres, as opposed to the current 16.8 metres. The request will be considered at the next Markham City Council committee of adjustment meeting.
