A 15-year-old Markham male was arrested on June 11 and charged following two sexual assaults that took place in broad daylight in the town of Richmond Hill.

The first incident occurred on May 7 when a 16year-old female riding a municipal bus noticed the suspect moving closer to her on the bus. The victim then noticed the accused performing an indecent act on himself in front of her. She exited the bus at Yonge Street and 16th Avenue and was pursued by the suspect, who grabbed her. A struggle ensued and the victim made off without injury.

The second incident occurred on June 2 in the area of Bayview Avenue and Bantry Avenue around 5:30 p.m. An 11-year-old female had exited a bus and noticed the suspect following her off the bus. The suspect approached the victim, pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. She was aided by passersby.

The suspect was arrested on June 11 without incident and faces four charges related to the assaults.
