Richmond Hill Post - - Crime -

York Regional Police is currently investigating a drowning incident that took place at a condominium at 7300 Yonge St., near Clark Avenue, on July 31.

Police received a call of medical distress at approximately 11:50 a.m.

When they arrived at the residence along with fire and ambulance personnel, they found a male resident believed to be in his 80s floating in the pool without vital signs present.

Paramedics made attempts to revive the man using CPR, but efforts were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released a cause of death and are still investigating to determine the exact cause of the drowning but believe that there is no cause for suspicion of foul play. A police spokesperson has said that they believe it is more likely that the victim suffered a medical emergency.
