St. Michael’s College School’s Chris DePiero is incredibly passionate about doing his part in helping his students achieve their very best.

The Director of Athletics believes that one of his most important roles in school is to encourage students to continually strive to improve themselves.

“I have always been drawn to the concept of people becoming more than what they feel they are capable of, and being the catalyst for them in understanding this,” he says.

“I truly believe that people are able to accomplish much more than what they believe they can, and I have seen that be the case in so many students/athletes.”

DePiero has been an educator for 16 years and has moved between formal classroom teaching, athletic coaching, mentoring and administration. His encouragement towards his students focuses not only on trying to improve themselves, but also on not giving up in pursuit of improvement.

“Sometimes we do not get the results we desire, but if we stay the course and build off of our experiences and not get discouraged by them, we will be moving forward, and that is what I believe life is all
