Customize your bowl at new Richmond Hill ramen joint
Get in shape for summer with the grand opening of Body Vision fitness centre in Richmond Hill. They offer a 20,000-square-foot gym with personal training available and classes like yoga, CrossFit, spinning, Zumba and kick-box cardio. They also offer a wellness program for corporate businesses at discounted rates. Enjoy a free day pass from Body Vision to try out their new facility (9325 Yonge St., #32, 905-881-6685). There is a new ramen joint on the block putting you in charge of the way you take your ramen. Touhenboku Ramen’s systematized menu, with steps on ordering ramen, allows customers to customize soup base, seasoning, noodle type and protein choice. The simple decor of the dining room features wooden tables with benches, instead of chairs, and seats about 30 (1070 Major Mackenzie Dr. E., 647-873-2208). Specializing in Asian-style charcoal barbecue dishes, dim sum and dumplings, Yummy Dumpling & BBQ offers seating for up to 30 people and boasts an extensive menu of over 130 different items. This Chinese eatery is slightly hidden in the Times Square Plaza, so be sure to head up to the second floor to find it (550 Highway 7 E., Unit 211, 905-5971818). If you’re looking for a Chinese-style breakfast, Apron Café opens at 7:30 a.m. and offers both Canadian-style and western Chinese–style breakfast. Early risers can order their choice of rice and noodle bowls or go with the classic Canadian breakfast consisting of eggs and sausage or pancakes and waffles. (9361 Yonge St., 905-787-8088).
