A de­ci­sion by the THE GOOD: On­tario Su­pe­rior Court of Jus­tice has been hailed a small vic­tory for the Town of Rich­mond Hill and those look­ing to pre­serve green space in the 905. Last year, the On­tario Mu­nic­i­pal Board (OMB) ruled in favour of de­vel­op­ers, plac­ing a 25 per cent cap on the amount of park space a mu­nic­i­pal­ity can seek from each devel­op­ment. Orig­i­nally, the town had sought park space or cash in lieu of land at a rate of one hectare for 300 res­i­den­tial units. The judge’s rul­ing has made it pos­si­ble for the town to ap­peal the OMB de­ci­sion. THE BAD:
