York Re­gional Po­lice

of­fi­cers have ar­rested and charged four sus­pects and have an ar­rest war­rant out for a fifth for first-de­gree mur­der and kid­nap­ping af­ter a male vic­tim was found dead of a gun­shot wound in a Markham home on Nov. 7, 2016. The vic­tim, a 50-year-old, was kid­napped in a park­ing lot on Mid­land Av­enue with an­other vic­tim who was found alive on the side of the road on Old Kennedy Road. Three of five sus­pects were ar­rested on Feb. 23 in Markham and a fourth on Feb. 28 in Whitby.

Three male sus­pects

are wanted by po­lice fol­low­ing a home in­va­sion in Vaughan. On Feb. 24, around 8 p.m., York Re­gional Po­lice of­fi­cers were called to a home on Lady Angela Lane af­ter a re­port that a male sus­pect pos­ing as a pizza de­liv­ery em­ployee forced his way into the home and was joined by two other males. One vic­tim was hit with a bat, and an­other vic­tim was tied up, but one was able to es­cape to the out­side to get help. All three sus­pects left the house on foot. The po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tion is on­go­ing

York Re­gional Po­lice

is ask­ing for the pub­lic’s as­sis­tance in iden­ti­fy­ing a male sus­pect in­volved in two sex­ual as­saults in Rich­mond Hill. On March 18, a fe­male vic­tim was al­legedly sex­u­ally as­saulted in a cloth­ing store on Yonge Street south of El­gin Mills by a male sus­pect. A 18-year-old em­ployee work­ing at the store re­ported a sim­i­lar assault by the same sus­pect that day. York Re­gional Po­lice em­pha­size that any non-con­sen­sual con­tact of a sex­ual na­ture is con­sid­ered sex­ual assault.
