Richmond Hill Post - - News -

Christmas is coming early for the people of Vaughan: Their shiny new Vaughan Metropolitan Centre ( VMC) subway station is all set to open by Dec. 17, eight years after the official groundbreaking ceremony. This new station, located off Highway 7 near Jane Street, is the terminus of a six-stop expansion known as the Toronto-York Spadina subway extension, which departs from Sheppard West station and stops at Downsview Park, Finch West, York University, Pioneer Village and Highway 407. On top of being architecturally unique, the VMC station is built with environmental sustainability in mind, including energy-efficient heating and air conditioning, a cool roof over the main entrance and LED and energy-efficient lighting.

CHROME DOME Generous glass walls around the entrance provide sunlight to platform.
