York Regional Police is currently accepting leads following an assault near Major Mackenzie Drive West and Dufferin Street. A 73-year-old female victim was walking her dog when she was approached by a male suspect who struck the dog, and the victim was pushed to the ground in a wooded area. The victim, who sustained minor physical injuries, reported to police that she had seen the suspect in the park in the days prior to the incident but did not know who he was.
Investigators are seeking leads following a double shooting that
left two victims, a male and a female, deceased. Shortly after midnight on June 29, officers responded to reports of a shooting near the area of Highway 7 and Langstaff Road. Since the incident, investigators have been interviewing witnesses and have identified the victims as a resident of Vaughan and the other a resident of Toronto. Individuals who may have information are encouraged to step forward.
A male suspect has been charged in connection with sexual assaults against a child at a home daycare. An investigation began in late June following a report of sexual assaults against a female child between the years of 2014 and 2018. The suspect is known to have been around children for many years through a home daycare that operated at his family residence at Bayview Avenue and Palmer Avenue in Richmond Hill. The suspect was arrested and charged on June 22.
