York Re­gional Po­lice is cur­rently ac­cept­ing leads fol­low­ing an as­sault near Ma­jor Macken­zie Drive West and Duf­ferin Street. A 73-year-old fe­male vic­tim was walk­ing her dog when she was ap­proached by a male sus­pect who struck the dog, and the vic­tim was pushed to the ground in a wooded area. The vic­tim, who sus­tained mi­nor phys­i­cal in­juries, re­ported to po­lice that she had seen the sus­pect in the park in the days prior to the in­ci­dent but did not know who he was.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors are seek­ing leads fol­low­ing a dou­ble shoot­ing that

left two vic­tims, a male and a fe­male, de­ceased. Shortly af­ter mid­night on June 29, of­fi­cers re­sponded to re­ports of a shoot­ing near the area of High­way 7 and Langstaff Road. Since the in­ci­dent, in­ves­ti­ga­tors have been in­ter­view­ing wit­nesses and have iden­ti­fied the vic­tims as a res­i­dent of Vaughan and the other a res­i­dent of Toronto. In­di­vid­u­als who may have in­for­ma­tion are en­cour­aged to step for­ward.

A male sus­pect has been charged in con­nec­tion with sex­ual as­saults against a child at a home day­care. An in­ves­ti­ga­tion be­gan in late June fol­low­ing a re­port of sex­ual as­saults against a fe­male child be­tween the years of 2014 and 2018. The sus­pect is known to have been around chil­dren for many years through a home day­care that op­er­ated at his fam­ily res­i­dence at Bayview Av­enue and Palmer Av­enue in Rich­mond Hill. The sus­pect was ar­rested and charged on June 22.
