A cel­e­bra­tion of di­ver­sity in North York

Toronto so­prano Denise Wil­liams is bring­ing a spe­cial per­for­mance to the Toronto Cen­tre for the Arts in North York, on Oct. 14, that cel­e­brates di­ver­sity. The con­cert, ti­tled Walk To­gether Chil­dren: A Cross Cul­tural Con­cert Cel­e­bra­tion, features singers, in­stru­men­tal­ists and dancers from the African, Jewish and Mus­lim di­as­po­ras and has been three years in the mak­ing. Per­form­ers in- clude pi­anists Brahm Gold­hamer and Nina Shapil­sky, per­cus­sion­ists Sam Donkoh and Daniel Barnes, winds player Ben Mac­Don­ald and a choir of Is­maili Mus­lim singers di­rected by Adrian Savin and Sal­ima Dhanani. Wil­liams cre­ated the show as a way to bring to­gether the black and Jewish com­mu­ni­ties and is thrilled to ex­tend it to in­clude the Mus­lim com­mu­nity as well.

SINGING SO­PRANO Denise Wil­liams is the artis­tic di­rec­tor and head­liner of the con­cert.
