In­ves­ti­ga­tors with the

York Re­gional Po­lice Hold-Up Unit are seek­ing the pub­lic’s as­sis­tance in iden­ti­fy­ing two sus­pects af­ter a rob­bery at a res­tau­rant in Vaughan. Just be­fore 10 p.m., on Sun­day, May 5, po­lice were called to a res­tau­rant in the area of Langstaff Road and High­way 27 for a re­port of a rob­bery. Two sus­pects wear­ing masks and armed with knives en­tered the res­tau­rant and de­manded cash. The em­ployee com­plied. The sus­pects then fled in a white com­pact car.

Ma­jor Col­li­sion In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit is seek­ing wit­nesses to a fatal col­li­sion in­volv­ing a cy­clist in Rich­mond Hill. On Mon­day, May 6 at 1 p.m., po­lice were called to the Bayview Av­enue and Woodriver Street area for a re­port of a cy­clist who had been struck by a dump truck. Of­fi­cers ar­rived to find the vic­tim, a 44-year-old fe­male from Rich­mond Hill, de­ceased. The driver of the dump truck re­mained at the scene. Po­lice are ask­ing wit­nesses or any­one with dash­board cam­era footage of the in­ci­dent to come for­ward.

has charged two male sus­pects af­ter haz­ardous, ex­plo­sive ma­te­ri­als were found in a Rich­mond Hill res­i­dence. On Fri­day, May 10, po­lice ex­e­cuted a search war­rant at a res­i­dence on Lar­ratt Lane af­ter re­ceiv­ing in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing a sus­pect be­ing in­ves­ti­gated by United States Cus­toms and Bor­der Pro­tec­tion and the Canada Bor­der Ser­vices Agency. Po­lice lo­cated the haz­ardous, ex­plo­sive ma­te­ri­als as well as a det­o­na­tor de­vice. The ac­cused, 18 and 47, both of Rich­mond Hill, have been charged with pos­ses­sion of an ex­plo­sive de­vice.
