York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects after a robbery at a restaurant in Vaughan. Just before 10 p.m., on Sunday, May 5, police were called to a restaurant in the area of Langstaff Road and Highway 27 for a report of a robbery. Two suspects wearing masks and armed with knives entered the restaurant and demanded cash. The employee complied. The suspects then fled in a white compact car.

Major Collision Investigation Unit is seeking witnesses to a fatal collision involving a cyclist in Richmond Hill. On Monday, May 6 at 1 p.m., police were called to the Bayview Avenue and Woodriver Street area for a report of a cyclist who had been struck by a dump truck. Officers arrived to find the victim, a 44-year-old female from Richmond Hill, deceased. The driver of the dump truck remained at the scene. Police are asking witnesses or anyone with dashboard camera footage of the incident to come forward.

has charged two male suspects after hazardous, explosive materials were found in a Richmond Hill residence. On Friday, May 10, police executed a search warrant at a residence on Larratt Lane after receiving information regarding a suspect being investigated by United States Customs and Border Protection and the Canada Border Services Agency. Police located the hazardous, explosive materials as well as a detonator device. The accused, 18 and 47, both of Richmond Hill, have been charged with possession of an explosive device.
