SCENTSATIONAL

Re-entering the perfume world after 15 years, storied fine jeweller Tiffany & Co. has introduced an eponymous fragrance that embodies the beloved brand’s strong trademark and heritage. A sparkling floral musk housed in a glass flacon carved like a signature Tiffany diamond, the rich juice features the slightest tint of blue and mixes notes of mandarin, patchouli, and musk with a precious iris-flower heart. The iris’ association with the jewellery house dates back to the turn of the 20th century: It was an extravagant iris-shaped diamond brooch that earned Tiffany the grand prize at a world’s fair held in Paris in 1900. At the house of Gucci, creative director Alessandro Michele has put his stamp on his first-ever fragrance for the luxury Italian label, Gucci Bloom. Blossoming notes of Indian tuberose and jasmine play with Chinese honeysuckle for the ultimate powdery-floral olfactory experience. As for the bottle, Michele’s signature, granny-chic aesthetic is reflected in the retro square shape and lacquered vintage-pink porcelain. Last but not least, designer Giorgio Armani has pulled inspiration from his own personal love story for his latest Emporio Armani fragrance endeavour, Because It’s You. The addictive, fruity-floral unfolds with tantalizing raspberry, neroli, and rose absolute, and seduces with a magnetic trail of vanilla and musk. Two intertwined rings on the bottle cap, the same ring design that Armani himself still wears to this day, seal this fragrant tale of amour.

Tiffany & Co Eau de Parfum is available at Tiffany stores, Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum is available at Sephora, and Emporio Armani Because It’s You Eau de Parfum is available at armani-beauty.ca.

DESIGNER FOCUS

Lancôme has once again called on Paris-bred designer Olympia Le-Tan for a limited-edition makeup collection. Known for her red-carpet-staple, artisanal book-cover clutches, the fashion darling has brought her playful, colourful aesthetic in full force to her sequel collaboration. The vintage-loving Le-Tan was drawn to explore Lancôme’s archives, and became charmed by the beauty house’s original logo, the Chérubin, an angel figure chosen by founder Armand Petitjean in 1935. Now rebelled out in 1950s pin-up fashion (very à la Le-Tan), the nostalgic symbol sits front and centre. Aptly named Olympia’s Wonderland, the 16-piece offering is a oneof-a-kind makeup playground with an offbeat Parisian chic: a multi-purpose palette sheathed in embroidered cotton that could easily be mistaken for one of Le-Tan’s minaudière clutches, three cult-classic L’Absolu Rouge lipsticks reshaped as lips, and much more. The Lancôme x Olympia Le-Tan collection is available at lancome.ca
