Power Ball 2017

The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery threw the 19th edition of its iconic Toronto art gala, Power Ball, on June 1st. This year’s theme, Stereo Vision, transported guests to a world of discovery, exploring ideas of alternate realities, multiple dimensions, and fantasy. After a sneak peek of Max Mara’s Fall ’17 collection, Power Ball’s presenting sponsor, the night kicked off with a VIP party conceptualized by Mexico Citybased design duo Ana Paula Ruiz Galindo and Mecky Reuss. Partnering with performance artist Francesco Pedraglio, the trio created a VIP-fête-meets-installation through distorted visuals projected onto walls and obscure performance artists scattered among the crowd. Later, doors opened to more partygoers and to the rest of the gallery’s spaces with installations by artists Daniel Barrow and Kelly Richardson, a concert on the patio featuring alternative-pop duo The Darcys, and vibrant beats by DJs Ralph and Yuknodis.
