Hun­dreds of peo­ple came from across cam­pus, the com­mu­nity and lo­cal schools to join in with Mount Al­li­son Univer­sity’s sec­ond an­nual pow­wow Thurs­day af­ter­noon at the ath­letic cen­tre. The event, hosted by the univer­sity’s In­dige­nous Stu­dent Sup­port Group, fea­tured dancers, drum­mers, singers, as well as arts and crafts ven­dors from across the Mar­itimes and pro­vided an op­por­tu­nity for the com­mu­nity to learn more about In­dige­nous cul­ture. Above, New Mount Al­li­son pres­i­dent Jean-paul Boudreau is wel­comed to the univer­sity by par­tic­i­pat­ing in a cer­e­mo­nial dance dur­ing the sec­ond an­nual pow­wow.
