Third annual Carl Ward Invitational set for this weekend
The third annual Carl Ward Invitational is set to go this weekend at the Tantramar Memorial Veterans Civic Center.
Teams are from throughout New Brunswick, along with Northeast Kings Education Center in the Kentville, N.S., area will compete.
Joining the TRHS Titans and NKEC with be the Moncton High Purple Knights, Nackawic Hawks, Woodstock Thunder, Clement Cormier Cavaliers and the St. Stephen Spartans.
The Titans open the tournament with a tilt against Moncton Thursday at 7:15 p.m., before a Friday game at 3 p.m. against NKEC. Also on Friday, the Titans meet Woodstock before their final preliminary game on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Nackawick.
All bets are off going into the weekend, as each team has played very well in the early going.
Semifinals will be Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m., with 1 vs. 4 in the first game and 2 vs. 3 in the other. The final at 3:30 p.m.
The Carl Ward Invitational has provided excellent hockey in its two years of existence with the Titans lifting the banner both years in hard-fought, lowscoring championship games against Clement Cormier both times.

All minor hockey players wearing team jerseys get free admission. There will also be a Chase the Ace draw.
