Po­lar plunge rings in New Year

Kal­abe Arse­nault, right, the youngest dip­per in this year’s Dorch­ester Lions Club Po­lar Dip, is joined by Mike El­ward. Vet­eran dip­per Andy Par­tridge cel­e­brates hav­ing com­pleted his 25th an­nual plunge in Dorch­ester. Par­tridge dou­bledipped to cel­e­brate the oc­ca­sion. This dip­per gave in to the crowd’s de­mands af­ter com­plet­ing his icy plunge and de­cided to make a snow an­gel to top off the cel­e­bra­tion. Dorch­ester Vol­un­teer Fire Depart­ment mem­bers Sara Boyce and Jac­ques Poirier both dou­ble-dipped as part of this year’s Dorch­ester Lions Club Po­lar Dip. This dip­per’s fa­cial ex­pres­sion says it all about how cold the water was dur­ing the 2019 Dorch­ester Lions Club Po­lar Dip.
