Saskatoon StarPhoenix - - Local -

Forty-seven new multi-compartment recycling bins have been installed throughout the downtown, Riversdale and Broadway districts in an effort to reduce the amount of waste going to the landfill, city officials said Friday.

The stainless steel bins, which contain three separate compartments for waste, paper and beverage containers, are resistant to vandalism and graffiti.

During this one-year trial, the bins will be maintained by Creative Outdoor Advertising, which will also pick up the waste and recycling.
