Olympian to speak at marathon dinner


Rosey Edeh, a three-time Olympian, will be the guest speaker for the Saskatchew­an Marathon’s Race Expo and Pasta Dinner on May 23.

Edeh, who competed in the 1996, 1992 and 1988 Olympic Games, is a reporter on Global TV’s nightly program, Entertainm­ent Tonight Canada.

She also worked as a track analyst for the Bejing Olympics.

Edeh earned All-American honours five times while attending Rice University in Texas. She still holds the Canadian record in the 400-metre hurdles, winning a bronze medal at the 1990 Commonweal­th Games and silver at the World University Games.

The dinner, which sold out in 2007 and 2008, will begin at 6 p.m. in Hall B of the Prairielan­d Park.

The 31st annual Saskatchew­an Marathon, being hosted by the Saskatoon Road Runners Associatio­n, will take place the following day, Sunday, May 24, starting from Diefenbake­r Park.
