Saskatoon referees pull together to help out Salvation Army

Whether you agree with that tripping call or not, there’s one thing we can say with certainty: Saskatoon’s sports officials, in addition to doing a fantastic job keeping things going on local sports fields and arenas, are good people.

ing Christmas, which helps the Salvation Army in their efforts to provide a happier holiday season for area families. Today we’re pleased to accept a donation from the Saskatoon 50-Plus League hockey referees.

“It gives us great pleasure to continue supporting this worthy cause,” referee-in

chief Bill Muirhead writes. “We realize that the money raised will afford many families the opportunity to enjoy the Christmas season even more. The members of our Saskatoon 50-Plus League referees are Norm Moisan, Lee Ryan, Ron Bobryk, Jean Blais, Garth Kerpan, Claude DaSilva and myself.”

Thanks to all those striped contributors for thinking of us again, and we promise the money will be put to very good use.

The McKillop family comes to our aid every winter, and they again sent us their annual donation in memory of Ralph McKil

lop.

“The Sporting Christmas donation has become a tradition for the McKillop family from Elrose,” Kay McKillop writes. “It is a great way to honour the memory of their father at Christmas time.”
