This March, Show Us What You’ve Got! — A Book Trailer Competition. To celebrate Teen Tech Week, the Saskatoon Public Library and the Regina Public Library are challenging you to go head to head in a book trailer competition. What’s a book trailer? It‘s like a movie trailer for your favourite book! Check out our website at saskatoonlibrary.ca for examples and all the competition details. First prize is $200 to shop at Midtown Plaza. Second prize is $100 for shopping and third prize is $50 for shopping. The competition runs from Friday to Sunday, March 31, and is open to Saskatchewan residents between the ages of 12 and 18. Escape into the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros for a day of gameplaying. Come to Rusty Macdonald Branch Library on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and learn to play the strategic Game of Thrones board game. Play as your favourite house and vie for control of the Iron Throne. This program is for teens aged 14 and older. Register online or by phone.
Join us, in partnership with the Mendel Art Gallery, for a workshop for adults, The Creative Force — Art, Music, Literature on March 10 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mendel Art Gallery. With Stephen Hutchings’s paintings and Olivier Messian’s Quartet for the End of Time providing inspirational background, award-winning author and Saskatoon Public Library writer in residence, David A. Poulsen, guides writers of all levels through a unique writing experience that will look at why and how we create.
