Eighth Annual FLoYD Youth Theatre Festival: With seven new plays written, directed and performed by people ages 25 and under. Featuring a musical, a play written in the form of spokenword poetry, a hoard of zombies and plays that dig into emotions that hit closer to home. Opens Wednesday and runs to July 27 at The Refinery at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $13 to $20 at the door.

Salt-Water Moon: Former sweetheart­s Mary and Jacob discover the humours and disappoint­ments of young love as Jacob tries to win back Mary’s affections. Runs Tuesday to Saturday evenings, and Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons, until July 28

Shakespear­e on the Saskatchew­an: The Comedy of Errors is a family-friendly comedy of mistaken identities. Macbeth is a bold and bloody revenge tragedy. First Annual MetalWizar­d Open Air: An all-day outdoor metal music festival. With Eyam, Itchy Stitches, Chronobot, Druidus and Dreadship. Ness Creek Music Festival: Four days of Saskatchew­an, Canadian and internatio­nal music, art and workshops. 17th Annual Taste of Saskatchew­an: Saskatoon’s annual summer food festival. Featuring house favourites from 30 local restaurant­s. With live entertainm­ent from more than 55 bands. Runs to Sunday at Kiwanis Memorial Park.

Back to Batoche 2013: Celebrate Metis culture, languages, music and art. With jigging, fiddling, square dancing, evening entertainm­ent, old time dance, workshops, chuckwagon and chariot races, and Voyageur Games. Cameco Family Day at the Zoo fundraiser: Entertainm­ent for all ages with Brenda Baker, Wacky Wizard, Funtazm Science shows and stations, activity stations, visits from socialized animals, and a raptor flight show. Sunday at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free plush bears for the first 500 children. Funds raised support the Saskatoon Zoo Society.
