AT THE LIBRARIES

-

Saskatoon Public Library events:

Go to your library and join the TD Summer Reading Club. Sign up for free at any SPL location and get an activity log to keep track of your books or days you’ve read. Receive small prizes for every five books or five days you read. The program ends Aug. 31, but join us for a wrap-up party Wednesday at Cliff Wright branch from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Ready, Set, Read! is a shared reading program being held at Cliff Wright and Rusty Macdonald branches in August. Children who have completed grades 1, 2 or 3 are paired with teen volunteers ages 12 to 17 to enjoy an hour of fun with books, games and other activities. Weekly participation is encouraged, but not mandatory. For information about registering as a teen volunteer or as a reader, check out the summer issue of Library News.

Where is your favourite place to read? Help us celebrate 100 years of SPL by sharing your favourite places to read in Saskatoon. In August, tell us your five favourite places to read on Facebook (facebook.com/saskatoonpubliclibrary), Twitter (@stoonlibrary using #spl100fav), by email (spl100fav@saskatoonlibrary.ca), or fill out an entry form at any library location and you’ll be entered to win one of four $100 gift certificates from McNally Robinson Booksellers. We’ll reveal the complete list of favourite places on Sept. 8, International Literacy Day.
